Educational Workshop

Duration: Three Hours (intensive) Day (extended)

The three hour intensive workshop is ideal for schools, of year 5 and above, and mixed age groups of up to thirty people. It can be offered as a wrap around activity supporting our performances on tour. This intensive yet fun workshop incorporates group work, drawing, simple narrative and storyboarding, puppet design and manipulation, sound effects/foley and music direction. 

Professional Masterclass

Duration: Day (extended)

This multidisciplinary workshop aims to give skilled practitioners an introduction to some of the techniques created by The Paper Cinema. Participants will learn basics of designing puppets, narrative and storyboarding, puppet manipulation and performance. In sound effects/foley and music direction for the piece made in the session. There is also opportunity for Q&A with the artists.

Combined Workshop (music & visual)

Duration: Three Hours (intensive) Day (extended)

This workshop is open to skilled practitioners in both music and visual performance. The objective is for synthesis of both by working in mixed groups. Participants will learn basics of designing puppets, narrative and storyboarding, puppet manipulation and performance.  sound effects/foley and music will be scored for the piece made in the session. There is also opportunity for Q&A with the artists.

 

Music and Foley Workshop

Duration: Two hours (intensive) day (extended)

This is a recently introduced program, which is usually incorporated in the standard workshop. Led by Christopher Reed, it covers a basic introduction to sound design for film and other audio visual productions. You will be guided through aspects of how to create, record and edit music/sound effects using digital software.

 

We have successfully delivered workshops at festivals, art galleries, colleges and schools, including: Battersea Arts Centre, AUB illustration course, Bristol Old Vic, Lush Festival, Barbican, Exeter Phoenix, The Tobacco Factory Theatre, Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
