Francesca Simmons - Musician (Violin and Saw)
Creative violinist and multi-instrumentalist Francesca Simmons has been working with The Paper Cinema since 2012. Originally from Wales, she trained classically in both Manchester and London, and now works collaboratively within cross-artform genres. Donning many musical hats has enabled her to perform in a kaleidoscope of settings from theatre, circus and studios to performance art. Her debut album Palimpsest is released Autumn 2015. Irena Stratieva - Puppeteer
Irena Stratieva is a professional puppeteer who studied at The National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts (Sofia, Bulgaria), and graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (London, UK). With her skills and experience as a puppeteer and a puppet maker she has worked with theatre companies such as The RSC, Blind Summit, The Paper Cinema and many others. During that time she has continued developing as an artist while actively performing and teaching puppetry in various countries around the globe.
Stan Middleton – Puppeteer
Stan Middleton is a third generation puppeteer who spent his childhood touring and working with his family aboard their floating marionette theatre, The Puppet Theatre Barge. Having been performing since he was nine years old, Stan went on to form his own company String Theatre at the age of nineteen and has since toured his own work across Europe, Asia and North Africa.
Wojtek Godzisz – Musician (Piano, Electronics and Foley)
Born and raised in Shepherds Bush from 1975, Wojtek left school at 17 determined to pursue a life on the stage. After training as an actor at Questors College in Ealing, Wojtek toured the world in his own band Symposium. Since deviating from a training in classical piano and violin, he has released his own solo albums (collaborating with Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip), played the part of Benny in Björn Again, obtained a London Underground Busking Licence, run the London Marathon, climbed Kilimanjaro, gotten married in Sicily and moved to St. Leonards-on-Sea.
Celestino Telera – Musician (Guitar, Foley and Percussion)
Celestino Telera is a guitarist, songwriter, composer and performer based in Bristol. Born in Manfredonia, in the south-east of Italy, he received his first guitar aged 6 and has explored musically ever since. After studying the bass horn with a wind and brass orchestra, and then the bass guitar, he started to experiment with song recording and put together his first album, 5/4. During this period he was also composing and performing for the theatre company Bottega degli Apocrifi, which he left in 2011 in order to pursue a new life in the UK. Once there,Telera began developing a new project, Uovo, through which he’s produced two singles and recently completed the production of an EP, Mothers’ Mud.
